A brief lesson regarding the word ‘Ephemera’. Definition from the Oxford language is “things that exist or are used or enjoyed for only a short time”. For example items printed on paper, card or other material. Subjects are varied from greeting cards, receipts, advertising and more.
Hand written works today are slowly disappearing due to our new (not so new) electronic age. In my humble opinion it is even more important to preserve theses items that may be of historic value, whether personal or companies that have folded over time. These days when we get a receipt, it is either emailed to us or on thermal paper that fades over time.
Here are a few examples of Ephemera. If you are interested may I suggest you contact the the ephemera society of Australia inc. You might even wish to join.
